Student examples from a one-week workshop/assignment in Lowe’s Advanced Drawing course. Photographer Linda Gammel, painter, Holly Swift, Kristen Lowe and Chemistry Professor Scott Burr, worked with students to developed a greater understanding of how the art making process can draw upon ideas from other disciplines. Through experiential learning using drawing and photographs students developed their ideas through a personal investigation of the natural world of the Linnaeus Arboretum. The final project is a visual book based on their interdisciplinary research, writings, photographs and drawings that explores time and light in nature.
