Another alternative is a window air conditioner with a double shaft fan. This type of unit draws its air conditioning system from the inside and blows it out the other side of the unit. A double shaft fan allows the system to work even when there is little or no outside air. This type of unit can be slightly noisy due to the rotation of the fan blades, but it rarely comes into contact with anything as the noise is minimal. The major downside of this type of unit is that it is typically a more expensive option. It is also typically larger than a typical room air conditioner.
A single-sized window air conditioner is a great way to cool a small area for a small room. The downside is that these units are not as efficient as their larger counterparts and often require a large amount of space to operate properly. The small unit is also usually not very efficient. If you are looking for an air conditioner to cool a small area quickly and efficiently, then a single-sized window air conditioner is likely not what you are looking for.
